Hello, gamer!

Summer is gasping out it's last long days of sun, and autumn is just around the corner. In the small, quaint, town of Lanesboro, Minnesota, folks will soon be busy preparing for the cold winter months ahead. Luckily, the townsfolk have a not-so-secret weapon to help them through the long, dark, cold days of winter: Gamesboro 2026!

Interestingly, you find yourself in Lanesboro on this fine autumn day. As you walk down the main street, a banner hanging across the road proclaims:

Gamesboro 2026
February 27th - March 1st

You continue into town. At the first intersection you see a signpost directing you to the Gamesboro Clubhouse. The arrow points up a steep hill.

Nestled betwixt the bluffs of the Driftless Region lies Lanesboro – a village so quaint that its hobbit origins are hard to hide. One enchanting weekend each February, an ages-old spell loses its effect: Lanesboro’s disguise falls away and Gamesboro is revealed! The entire town BECOMES our gameboard as events and gaming sessions spring up in participating locales throughout.

GAMESBORO ATTENDANCE POLICY

Gamesboro is a unique convention dedicated to providing a fun and safe experience for all. Attendees’ registration for and participation in this event constitutes their agreement to adhere to and abide by all Gamesboro policies as outlined below.

Reporting Violations

Attendees are to report any policy violations to a Gamesboro Volunteer or Staff Member. Look for Volunteers and Staff roving throughout the convention spaces. They can be identified by their snappy t-shirts. Volunteers and Staff Members are required to decisively address any reports of harassment, general misbehavior, or safety violations for resolution. Volunteers are not to take reports themselves; their role is to connect the person reporting to a Staff Member for a full and direct report.

If confidentiality is of high priority, Staff will respect the privacy of individuals reporting a violation to the best of their ability.

Host Sites' Policies

Gamesboro respects and supports all the policies of host businesses and organizations participating in and supporting our convention. Attendees will adhere to the policies of all businesses and organizations that are hosting locations for Gamesboro activities. Host sites will have a Gamesboro poster displayed identifying their participation status and emergency contact information.

Harassment

No form of harassment stemming from any Gamesboro attendee will be tolerated. Harassment includes (but is not limited to) offensive verbal comments related to characteristics including gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, veteran status, religion, politics, or personal health and safety choices; deliberate intimidation; stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of events; inappropriate physical contact; and/or unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Please report any violations of the harassment policy to Volunteers or Staff Members.

Code of Conduct

Attendees are not to engage in any behavior which endangers, or may endanger, the health or well-being of others, their property, or the relationship of Gamesboro with the town of Lanesboro. Attendees are to keep in mind that they are in public spaces and should treat other people and their belongings, as well as participating sites/businesses/organizations, with respect. Being kind is the best investment for a great time.

Costumes & Weapons

Costumes and cosplay, as with any item or activity at a gaming convention, must not harm, damage, or leave residue on other person(s) or any venue’s surfaces. These are public spaces and attendees will be held responsible for their own actions. If you have any questions with regard to costumes, cosplay, fake weapons as part of a costume, etc., please contact Staff. Gamesboro will not be held liable for injuries or damages due to individuals’ behavior. Again, these are public spaces, and common sense should guide all actions.

If you are approached by a Staff Member who requests that you rectify a safety issue, it is your full responsibility to immediately comply. Failure to comply with this simple policy may result in the revocation of an individual’s convention status without refund.

Children and Minors at Gamesboro

Children under age 7 may receive a free “Super Awesome Con Kiddo” badge with the purchase of an accompanying adult badge.

Parents/guardians of children 7-12 must purchase a full-price badge for their kids to participate in all events. Minors 13-17 must also purchase a full-price badge.

Children under age 13 must be accompanied by an adult guardian at all times. Parents of children 13-17 will remain on-site and/or be easily and quickly available on-site in case of need. Please provide contact information on the back of the child’s badge in case of emergency or accidental separation.

Due to narrative content, GMs have discretion on whether they will invite or allow children younger than the published age for their event. They are not required to do so. GMs are encouraged to be considerate of their ticketed players when making such decisions.

GMs also have discretion as to whether to allow caregivers to leave the immediate vicinity of their child at the risk of the parent or guardian when explicitly arranged with the GM at or before the start of the event.

At no time is Gamesboro, its Gamemasters, Volunteers, or Staff responsible for your child. If you or your child’s caregiver choose to separate from your child (whether across the room or down the street), that is at your own risk as a parent.

Gamemasters with disruptive players (whether adults or children) should contact Staff Members. Gamesboro has policies regarding misbehavior and harassment that may result in dismissal from the convention without refund.

In the case of disruptive children, we will contact the parent, guardian, and/or caregiver to discuss the situation. If the disruption is serious or ongoing, the parent, guardian, or caregiver will be asked to remove the child from the convention without refund.

Sanctions

Attendees violating these rules may face sanctions up to and including expulsion from the convention without a refund, and/or being banned from future Gamesboro events. All sanctions are administered at the sole discretion of the Gamesboro Staff Members.
